
Common Questions
How much does it cost to secure a date?
We require a $1000 non-refundable Booking Deposit to secure a date. This will then come off of the total Booking Fee. If you need to move the date, we will do our best to find you a new date and move the Deposit at no additional cost.
Can we bring our own food and alcohol?
Yes! You can bring in any food or catering of your choice. We just ask that all catering is fully self sufficient as we have limited prep space in our kitchen area. You are also able to bring your own alcohol with proper licensing and insurance.
Can I bring my own decorations?
Yes, you can definitely bring you own decorations. If you prefer to set up everything yourself that is no problem. We do offer Decor Packages if you prefer to rent them from us and have us set it all up. You can also add in your own personal touches to a Decor Package. We do not allow open flames or items are to be secured to the walls.
How much parking is on site?
We have a full parking lot that can fit approximately 20 cars. there is also overflow parking along the road directly beside The Chapel. We ask that no vehicles stay parked in the access ramp laneway.
What if I have over 50 people for a Reception?
Here are a few suggestions: 1) You could do a less formal Cocktail Hour Reception all at The Chapel or 2) Right across the street, there is the new Water Valley Community Hall with a much larger capacity for Receptions. They have a full commercial kitchen and lots of space to have all your guests. check them out at www.watervalley.ca
How many people fit in The Chapel?
Our fire capacity is 98 people for a seated Ceremony and 50 people for a Reception with tables and chairs
When do we set up?
Most of our Packages include a 2 hour rehearsal the night before your wedding. This is a great time to set up or bring any items to leave at The Chapel over night.
What is required for clean-up?
We ask that the venue be left in the approximate condition of when you arrived. Remove all personal items and decor, put trash and recycling into proper garbage cans, and clean up and spills if on the wood floors. Clean-up is required to be done in total time of your booking.
How long is reception turnover?
For any of our Reception Packages we include Reception Turnover - setting up tables and chairs after the ceremony. This usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time most couples head outside with their guests to take photos and by the time they are done The Chapel has been set up.
Do you provide an officiant?
No we do not provide an officiant. You are welcome to bring in anyone of your choice or style. Alberta also allows you to choose a friend or family member to become certified for a day to marry you too.
