About The Chapel
The Chapel Company is an intimate Wedding and Events Venue located in historic Water Valley, Alberta. The Chapel was originally built in 1936 and was a Catholic Church until 2001. Since then, it has been beautifully restored to become the venue it is today. This charming space captures your attention as soon as you drive up to the property. Bright natural light fills the venue windows, with natural wood elements and clean white walls to help showcase your event. The goal of our space is help you create your perfect, effortless wedding or event. From simple Elopement or DIY weddings, to curated Decor Packages and full Receptions, we make elegant weddings simple. There is also a rental property located at the back of the property - The Chapel View Cottage. This is an ideal addition to a wedding weekend or relaxing getaway, anniversary or staycation. Water Valley is located just 45 minutes north west of Calgary. We are nestled in the heart of the foothills, surrounded by beauty and nature. Main street of Water Valley is also home to the Water Valley Saloon, Whiskey Barrel Outpost, Water Valley Hardware Store, Water Valley Community Hall and The Water Valley Library.
Our Story
In 2021, Ryan and Shayla stumbled across the cutest old church for sale in Water Valley, Alberta. After going to see it in person they immediately fell in love with the property and knew they wanted to buy it. With Ryan's business background and Shayla's events experience, it couldn't be a better fit. They took ownership of the property in March 2022 and The Chapel Company officially began. Shortly after that, Ryan proposed to Shayla and they began planning their own wedding. In May 2022 they got married in The Chapel! They said 'I Do' and got to introduce their closet family and friends to their brand new adventure - Wedding Venue Owners. Owning The Chapel Company has been such a joy for both of them. Not only do they get to work along side the most amazing couples, but they get to help them create their own dream wedding day at The Chapel too.
